The West Coast of Scotland contains some of the most beautiful scenery in Europe. This three-day tour will let you discover some of our most popular lochs, glens and mountains as well as the opportunity of visiting the beautiful islands of Mull and Iona.

Day One: Edinburgh/Glasgow - Oban - Isle of Mull

From Edinburgh and Glasgow, we make our way into the scenic beauty of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. Enjoy the ever-changing panorama as we make our way along the "bonnie, bonnie banks”.

Enjoy a drive through the Argyll Forest Park then climb through the dramatic "Rest and be Thankful” mountain pass before making a short stop in Inveraray on Loch Fyne to view delightful Inveraray Castle. This pretty town was built by the Duke of Argyll on the banks of Loch Fyne, Inveraray exudes 18th Century charm, as we will discover.

A scenic drive along the banks of Loch Awe will bring us to picturesque Kichurn Castle then onwards through the Pass of Brander to Oban, a very picturesque fishing port overlooking the Firth of Lorne. There is free time here so if you’d like to discover how whisky is made using traditional methods a visit to Oban Distillery might be on the cards. Alternatively, you can browse the shops or enjoy the scenic views over Oban Bay to the little island of Kerrera.

Later this afternoon join the ferry for the short sailing to the Isle of Mull. On arrival make for delightful Tobermory, our home for the next two nights.

Overnight: Tobermory, Isle of Mull

Day Two: Mull and Iona Excursion

After breakfast, we have a delightful day exploring the islands of Mull and Iona. The tour of Mull takes us to Glen More and along the banks of Loch Scridain to the little port of Fionnphort, where we join the ferry for Iona.

St Columba landed on Iona in 563 founding a monastery and bringing Christianity to Scotland. During your visit, there is time to visit the restored abbey and Reilig Oran, the burial place of many early  Scottish Kings, including Macbeth. Later enjoy a walk across the golden sands of "The Bay at the Back of the Ocean” where the next landfall is North America!

Back on Mull, the tour returns to Tobermory along the banks of Loch na Keal with amazing views of Ben More, the highest peak on the island.

Overnight: Tobermory, Isle of Mull

Day Three: Isle of Mull - Glen Coe - Edinburgh/Glasgow

After breakfast, we make the short drive to Fishnish where the ferry waits to take us across the Sound of Mull to Lochaline in the remote Morvern Peninsula. Our journey will take us along the banks of Loch Sunart to reach Ardgour where another ferry will take us across the Corran Narrows of Loch Linnhe.

As we cross the Ballachulish Bridge enjoy the views of Loch Leven with the mountains of Glen Coe as a backdrop. There is a stop in the heart of the glen so you can experience the wonderful views and hear the tragic tale of the infamous massacre that took place here in 1692. Later we travel across the expansive wilderness of Rannoch Moor before descending the Black Mount to reach the shores of Loch Tulla below.

We reach the shores of Loch Lomond once again and drive the entire length of the loch. Soon we will arrive in Glasgow and then, a little later, Edinburgh.
