Loch Ness Passion

The appeal of Loch Ness is more than the mystery of what lies beneath its surface. Join us for a day of ancient castles, standing stones, breathtaking scenery and a cruise on the loch itself.

It seems you’ve hardly boarded your luxury coach in Inverness city centre when your views have changed to the banks of Loch Ness as your local driver guide sets the scene.

Mysterious Loch Ness is the largest loch by volume in Scotland and deeper than the North Sea; experts claim it contains more freshwater than all the lakes of England and Wales put together. Discover more about the loch, including eyewitness accounts of its legendary lodger, when we visit the Loch Ness Exhibition Centre in the charming village of Drumnadrochit.

Later there is a scenic drive along the banks of Loch Ness to the pretty village of Invermoriston. Here enjoy a short stroll to see the rocky rapids of the River Moriston and the original stone bridge which was built to help keep the Highlands under control.

We next enjoy a relaxed stop at Urquhart Castle, a magnificent 14th-century castle and one of a chain of garrisons that controlled the Great Glen. Nowadays it’s a popular viewpoint with ‘Nessie’ spotters scanning the waters of the loch.  You’ll have plenty of time to explore Urquhart Castle and find out all about it with the fascinating audio-visual presentation.

From Urquhart Castle, you board your boat for a scenic 90-minute cruise of Loch Ness and the Caledonian Canal, an amazing highlight of your day. Keep one eye on the surface of the water with your camera ready just in case!

Once more in Inverness, a complimentary coach takes you back to Inverness city centre.

Tour Highlights: Coach tour along the banks of Loch Ness, Invermoriston, visits to the Loch Ness Exhibition Centre and Urquhart Castle, and cruise on Loch Ness.
